FSC (Fire Safe Cigarette)
60It was reproted that most states have recently taken on laws that require cigarettes to meet some fire standards so that they go out by themselves when not being smoked. The laws require cigarettes to have a better chance of putting itself out using some type of laboratory test which was created by ASTM International (formerly, the American Society for Testing and Materials). These cigarettes are known as Fire Standards Compliant (FSC) cigarettes.
- FSC cigarettes are not “fire-safe”. Anything that burns, if handled carelessly, can cause a fire.
- FSC cigarettes should be handled and thown away, just like all cigarettes.
- Cigarettes by Philip Morris USA’s FSC is printed on the pack just above the UPC code.
Banded Cigarette Paper
Bands put on the cigarette paper uses ingredients that have been used in non-FSC cigarettes.
They say the bands are like "speed bumps" in the road (by lowering the flow of oxygen through the paper to the burning tobacco) to slow down the speed that the cigarette burns.
FSC cigarettes do not use fire-retardant chemicals.
My Thought
Just last week my cigarette had a different taste but I thought it was just my imagination. A friend told a few days ago that his manager came back from a meeting and was told about this. So I went searching online and found it to be true. I read of people saying they noticed a difference in the taste of copper or metallic like. BINGO! I was like wowwwwwwwwwwwww.
There are many complaints from people having different symptoms such as an itchy rash, (allergic reaction), severe headache, nose bleeds, diarrhea, vomiting, and mouth sores.
They performed tests which had some risks associated with 'Ethylene Vinyl Acetate copolymer emulsion based adhesive' include triggering the cellular proliferation necessary for tumor development.
OKAY! My quitting day has just become really close. I have been wanting to quit because I am a self control freak and hate that something has a control over me. I have made a few attempts and failed. This is what kept me from becoming an alcoholic as my father was.
Just reading what I am typing brings a huge lump in my throat specially about the adhesive. Wish me luck.
